Marine Harvest provide critical defibrillator device for local community

20.10.2011

Marine Harvest Ireland has provided two defibrillators to the local communities of Kerrykeel and Glenvar. A defibrillator or  AED (automated external defibrillator) is a portable electronic device that automatically diagnoses cases of life threatening cardiac arrhythmias which lead to cardiac arrest.

The defibrillators are located at the credit union in Kerrykeel and the old school in Glenvar. Marine Harvest has undertaken to upkeep both defibrillators as well as appropriate training. Pictured are participants from the local community who recently received their FECTAC level 5 certificates in occupational first aid training provided by Phonsie McAteer of Marine Harvest.
